The mysterious Enduro Disco returns to Exploited for another two-track excursion, filled with subtle majesty and interesting touches.
The title track is a quirky groove that displays all the unusual character commonly found in an Enduro Disco track. A wiggling groove is built through filtered stab delays, high-pitched vocal snippets and shakers. Disco string fills signal a shift in mood as languid live bass slides drop in along with dreamy, pleasingly chorused vocal harmonies that have a hint of classic samba to them. The mysterious melodic feel is punctured by a stripped-down section filled with squelchy synths and a tight rhythm as the track reaches its culmination.
Try A Little Harder rocks a spacey disco groove where descending, detuned bass notes tumble over delayed string hits and hypnotic motifs. A euphoric chord progression is teased in the brooding breakdown before filtering back down. Gorgeous female vocals drift in and out as the electro-house flavoured lead synth bashes out a groove. Pulsing pads provide a melodic counterbalance, as does a cute FM-style arpeggio. As ever from this talented producer, its a masterclass in graceful arrangement and compelling matching of textures.
